College of Integrative Sciences faculty, students, staff, alumni and community volunteers have partnered with Wild at Heart Raptor Rescue to build, monitor and maintain burrowing owl habitats at the ASU Polytechnic campus and introduce owl pairs who need rehoming.

To determine how BioMedia ranks in terms of ease of use and adequacy with our user's needs, I conducted the UMUX-Lite Survey which is a type of usability testing consisting of two 5-point rating scale questions.

During my first interview, I had prepared the main questions but didn’t account for the various ways the interviewee might respond. I also didn’t plan any follow-up questions. When the conversation deviated from my prepared questions, I found it challenging to steer it back on track, leading to a less effective interview.

While designing the interface, I aimed for it to be novel and different, but ultimately, I chose a layout and interactions that researchers would find familiar. The final design is inspired by tools they use daily, such as Google Photos and Dropbox.
